We love seeing RCI members get attention in the media, and it is not surprising that Eric Silver of
Pikimal should be noticed by the Business Times. Pikimal is unrolling a new brand called
Webkite soon, and we can't wait to see what it can do. Take a look:
Using the technology developed for Pikimal, the new company white labels it, making it a content management platform that any client website can use.
“I used to think it was all inside Pikimal,” Silver said, about trying to build a new way to search. However, he now sees the technology as a way to harness the opinions of the crowd and the opportunity is giving that tool to others to run on their domains.
Pikimal, which has seen its traffic recover and grow, is now powered by WebKite as are a couple other sites built by WebKite's team to show what it can do.
“The big vision is we want to improve how search works,” Silver said, the same goal he had for Pikimal but now, its improving search within specific websites for people looking for specific items. WebKite takes a client’s structured data and uses it to build a dynamic site.
