Pittsburgh Looking Up In Tough Economy

Pittsburgh, showing a strong resilience against the current economy, is both in a top US region where paychecks have gone up the most, and is also on of the country's top 50 best performing cities.

Despite the recession and the slow recovery, average weekly earnings have grown in more than 80 metro regions across the U.S. -- and Pittsburgh's in the top 15.
The Durham, N.C., metro region has seen its average weekly earnings jump the most -- 48 percent -- to $933.31 a week in November 2012 from five years ago. The biggst decline was in nearby Youngstown, Ohio, where average weekly earnings are down by more than $100 since November 2007.
